What is the Goal-Setting Dashboard?

The Goal-Setting Dashboard is an offline productivity tool designed to help you plan, track, and complete long-term objectives. Setting ambitious goals can be overwhelming without structured planning. This application allows you to decompose major objectives into actionable milestones, helping you maintain clarity and focus.

Operating entirely in your browser window, this tool ensures your personal ambitions and development plans remain private. It saves your goals locally in browser storage, eliminating the need to sync private projects to public cloud databases.

How to Use the Goal-Setting Dashboard

Creating and managing your goal milestones involves the following steps:

  1. Click the circular "+" button in the bottom-right corner of the window to open the goal-setting modal.
  2. Enter a brief name for your target in the "Goal Title" input box.
  3. In the "Milestones" text box, type your action steps, placing each item on a new line.
  4. Click the "Set Goal" button to generate your goal card.
  5. As you complete each step, select the corresponding checkbox on the card. The card's progress bar and percentage indicator will update automatically.
  6. Review your top dashboard statistics (Active Goals, Completed, Overall Progress) to track your velocity.
  7. Click the "×" button in the corner of a goal card to permanently delete it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the overall progress percentage calculated?
The dashboard averages the completion percentages of all active goal cards. If you have two goals, one at 50% completion and one at 100%, your overall progress will display as 75%.

Can I edit a goal's milestones after creating it?
No. To keep the interface lightweight and fast, milestones cannot be edited once set. You can delete the card and create a new one with updated steps.

Is there a limit to how many milestones I can add?
No software limit is enforced. You can add as many checklist lines as you need to detail your plan.

Can I export my goal list to a file?
Data is saved inside your browser's local cache. While this tool does not have a direct export button, our Life OS panel lets you manage and back up your saved data.
