What is the Clipboard Manager?
The Clipboard Manager is a local workspace utility designed to store, manage, and retrieve copied text fragments. Standard system clipboards only retain a single item at a time, overwriting your previous clipboard contents whenever you copy something new. This manager allows you to queue multiple text elements without losing your progress.
This utility works entirely offline in your browser window. By integrating with local storage, it preserves your saved links, code snippets, or templates across browser sessions without sending any keystrokes to third-party databases.
How to Use the Clipboard Manager
To organize your text snippets and links, follow these steps:
- Locate the "Add New Snippet" card on the left side of the dashboard.
- Type or paste your text inside the "Paste your text, code, or link here..." text box.
- Click the "Save to History" button (or press Enter) to log the text snippet. (Pasting directly inside the input area will also trigger an automatic save).
- View your saved items, timestamps, and count under the "History" panel on the right side.
- Click the blue "Copy" button on any logged item to instantly copy it back to your system clipboard.
- Click the "×" button on a card to delete a single item, or click "Clear All" to empty your entire vault.
Key Features of the Snippet Vault
- Auto-Paste Detection: Automatically intercepts paste events in the input box to log snippets instantly without clicking submit.
- One-Click Clipboard Writing: Uses standard browser clipboard API hooks to copy historical text back to your system buffer immediately.
- Timestamp Logs: Appends local dates and times to each snippet card for easier chronological navigation.
- Selective Deletion: Features individual remove switches alongside a bulk wipe button to manage history capacity.
Common Use Cases
This manager is helpful for the following tasks:
- Programming Reference Logs: Keeping repetitive code fragments, bash commands, or SQL queries easily accessible during development.
- Customer Support Templates: Storing standard email responses or template answers to resolve tickets quickly.
- Online Research Compilation: Collecting multiple article quotes, reference links, and statistics from various tabs before organizing them into a final document.
