Master the Web: Essential Browser Hotkeys
What is the Keyboard Shortcut Manager?
The Keyboard Shortcut Manager is a local customization utility that maps keyboard combinations to navigation actions. Standard web navigation requires multiple mouse clicks, which disrupts workflow flow. This tool allows you to create custom key combinations to trigger navigation shortcuts.
Running entirely offline in your browser, this manager protects your workflow patterns and navigation configurations. It saves your shortcuts in local browser storage, ensuring your navigation setups are retained without being synced to cloud servers.
How to Use the Keyboard Shortcut Manager
To record and use your custom navigation shortcuts, follow these steps:
- Locate the "Record New Shortcut" card.
- Click inside the "Press Keys..." box to place the recorder in listening mode.
- Press your desired key combination (e.g., Shift + J) on your keyboard. The detected keys will appear in the box.
- Select a target tool page (such as the To-Do List or Password Vault) from the "Select Action..." dropdown menu.
- Click the "Save Shortcut" button. The new combo card will appear in the "Active Shortcuts" grid.
- Press your key combination on this page to jump instantly to the linked destination.
- Click the "×" button on any active card to delete that shortcut.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I override browser shortcuts like Ctrl + T?
No. Browsers block websites from overriding system shortcuts (such as opening new tabs or printing pages) for security reasons. We recommend using combinations like Shift or Alt key combinations.
Do these shortcuts work on other websites?
No. These configurations apply only to the workspace here. The shortcuts run within this active tab session.
Does this tool monitor or log my keystrokes?
No. The tool only monitors key presses when recording a shortcut or listening for a saved combination. Your inputs are processed locally.
How do I clear all my custom shortcuts?
You can delete shortcuts individually using the "×" button on each card, or clear your browser's site cookies and storage to reset the tool.
